铍中毒是由于铍及其化合物侵袭肺并可累及其他器官的全身性疾病。临床上分为急性铍中毒和慢性铍中毒。急性铍中毒，为短时间吸入高浓度可溶性铍盐所致，一般经数小时或数天出现呼吸道和皮肤症状。慢性铍中毒，为长期吸入低浓度难溶性铍化合物所致，潜伏期数月或数年甚至数十年，一般呈渐进性发病。
