针刀工具的产生，是由一个偶然的事件引发的。针刀疗法的形成，则是在大量临床实践、实验研究的基础上逐渐形成的。2006年7月15日，全国中医微创学术大会确立‘针刀’“中医微创医学”的概念，用“微创”重新诠释医学，重新定位医学，重新改造医学，让医学重新回归它的本源。
