《金属切削原理及刀具》分两大部分，共计18章。第1章～第10章为切削原理部分，包括基本定义、刀具材料、金属切削的变形过程、切削力、切削热和切削温度、切削摩擦学、工件材料的切削加工性、已加工表面质量、刀具合理几何参数的选择及切削用量优化、高速切削。第11章～第18章为切削刀具、磨削部分，包括车刀、成形车刀、孔加工刀具、铣削与铣刀、拉削与拉刀、数控加工与高速加工刀具、磨削与砂轮、切削过程有限元模拟与仿真技术。各章都配有适量的思考题和练习题。
