指在重力作用下，自由向下渗透入土壤中的水。可分为渗透重力水和支持重力水。它只能从上向下移动，或沿斜坡移动，也是地下水的来源。植物能利用，但由于流动速度一般相当快，所以很少被植物直接吸收。易变为毛管水，被植物利用。土壤中如长期存在大量重力水，会影响土壤通气性，故要及时排除。
