遥测系统是指具有对一定距离的被测对象的某些参数进行测量、传输和处理功能 的系统，即是将对象参量的近距离测量值传输至远距离的测量站来实现远距离测量的系统。 遥测系统一般由输入设备、数据传输设备、终端设备三大部分组成， 如概述图所示。其中，数据传输设备包括把从输入设备来的多路信号进行多路复用、发射、接收和分路的设备。 遥测系统的工作原理涉及信息采集、信息传输和信息处理等方面。遥测系统实质上是一类多路数据传输系统系统。为了能用一个信道来完成多路信息传输，可采用多路传输技术。
