透射是入射光经过折射穿过物体后的出射现象。被透射的物体为透明体或半透明体,如玻璃,滤色片等。若透明体是无色的,除少数光被反射外,大多数光均透过物体。为了表示透明体透过光的程度,通常用透过后的光通量与入射光通量 之比τ来表征物体的透光性质,τ称为光透射率。
