软关井是指发现溢流关井时，先打开节流阀一侧的通道，再关防喷器，最后关闭节流阀的操作程序。 国内钻井工程中，软关井方式占有主流地位。主要依据于国内五十年代的井控装备、套管抗内压强度、井身结构以及溢流检测手段相对于国内大部份探区地层压力梯度，不足以应对流体冲击带来的风险，而在国内推广的一种关井方式。
关井水击压力的大小直接决定了现场是采用“软关井”还是“硬关井”方式关井。
