轮胎压路机是由多个充气轮胎对道路进行密实作业的一种机械。轮胎压路机碾轮采用充气轮胎，一般装前轮3～5个，后轮4～6个。如改变充气压力可改变 接地压力，压力调节范围为0.11～1.05兆帕。 轮胎式压路机采用液压、液力或机械传动系统，单轴或全轴驱动，宽基轮胎铰接式车架结构三点支承。压实过程有揉搓作用，使压实层颗粒不破坏而相嵌，均匀密实。机动性好，行速快（可达25公里/时）。
