在IMF之前编制的《国际收支手册》中实际上是指资本帐户与金融帐户，而在第五版被细分为资本帐户与金融帐户。 资本帐户包括资本转移和非生产、非金融资产的收买和放弃。资本转移是指一经济体的居民实体向另一个实体无偿提供了金融产品或服务。非生产、非金融资产的收买或放弃是指各种无形资产，如专利、版权、商标、经销权、租赁及其他转移。
