贻贝（学名：Mytilus edulis）亦称海虹，煮熟后加工成干品——淡菜，是一种双壳类软体动物，壳黑褐色，生活在海滨岩石上。分布于中国黄海、渤海及东海沿岸。贻贝壳呈楔形，前端尖细，后端宽广而圆。一般壳长6～8厘米，壳长小于壳高的2倍。壳薄。壳顶近壳的最前端。两壳相等，左右对称，壳面紫黑色，具有光泽，生长纹细密而明显，自顶部起呈环形生长。
