质量事故就是一个物体不能满足使用要求和使用程度，而造成经济损失，人员伤亡，或者其他损失的意外情况。工程质量事故的分类方法较多，国家现行对工程质量事故通常采用按造成损失严重程度划分为：一般分质量问题、一般质量事故和重大质量事故三类。 一般质量事故分三个等级：一级一般质量事故，直接经济损失在150--300万之间；二级一般质量事故，直接经济损失在50--150万之间；三级一般，直接经济损失在20--50万之间。本等级划分所称的“以上”包括本数，所称的“以下”不包括本数。
