视觉停留，是指人的眼睛在观看某种可以移动的物体，特别是比较小的物体时，由于看的时间比较长，眼睛所看到的物体的形状和大小以及颜色会给大脑的记忆系统留下很深的印象。会产生“走神”的现象，这时如果把眼睛所看到的物体，悄悄地移开，人的眼睛会在很短的时间内（0.1s左右）仍然感觉到所看到的物体仍然存在于眼睛的视线里。
