古代瓷窑。在山西平定。最早见于《大明一统志》，《广舆记》及清代文献也多因之。但具体情况都语焉不详。1977年发现具体窑址，判明其始于唐，经五代、宋而终于金。造型、胎釉与邢窑、定窑相近，以烧白瓷为主，兼烧黑瓷。
