唯识家所立的色法之一。旧译为‘作色’。凡色境有三，即显色、形色与表色。‘显色’，即一般所说的颜色，如青色、黄色等。‘形色’，系指物体之形状，如长短等。‘表色’，系指有情之动作，如取舍、屈伸、行住、坐卧。取舍其物曰取舍，屈伸身体曰屈伸。此取舍屈伸、行住坐卧是表达有情内心而显现于外的动作，故称为表色。如《瑜伽师地论》卷一所述（大正30·279b）︰
所谓匀色空间即是人眼视觉上相同的色差能在表色空间中表现出相同的距离。
