行街，就是在街上行走，是一种边走边演奏的形式。这首乐曲又叫《行街四合》，因为经常用于婚嫁迎娶和节日庙会巡演而得名。有两个版本并存。一是由《小拜门》、《玉娥郎》、《行街》及其变化重复部分组成。二是由《行街》、《快六板》、《柳青娘》、《快六板》、《行街》尾声组成。二者不论其组合的曲牌有所同异和多少不一，但它们的共同点都是以《行街》及其变奏为主体，所以它们都属变奏性的联缀体。
