行星波,又称罗斯贝波。是一种长波,波长(两个相邻槽线或脊线之间的东西距离)为3000~10000km,相当于50~120个经距。全纬圈约为3~7个波,振幅一般为10~20个纬距,平均移动速度在10个经距/日以下,有时很慢,呈准静止,甚至会向西倒退。在中高纬度地区,其水平尺度可大到同地球半径相比拟。
