螺型位错（screw dislocation）又称螺旋位错（Burgers dislocation）。一个晶体的某一部分相对于其余部分发生滑移，原子平面沿着一根轴线盘旋上升，每绕轴线一周，原子面上升一个晶面间距。在中央轴线处即为一螺型位错。 当晶体中存在螺型位错时，原来的一族平行晶面就变成为以位错线为轴的螺型面。如果绕螺型位错环行，就会像走坡度很小无台阶的楼梯一样，从一层晶面走到另一层晶面。螺型位错的名称就是由此而来的。
