荒煤气(Waste gas)是指含尘煤气。不能直接供给用户,必须经过除尘处理。因为荒煤气中的炉尘不但在输送过程中可能堵塞管路,而且由于炉尘中的碱性物质在燃烧时于高温状况下可能与酸性耐火材料融合(渣化),从而降低焦炉燃烧室和热风炉蓄热室等设备的使用性能及使用寿命。至干除尘的程度,则由用户的要求和技术经济的可行性来决定,一般除尘后净煤气的含尘量应小于10-8mg/m3。此外,用户对除尘后的煤气含水量和温度也有一定要求。
