蜘蛛名，为蛛形目，皿蛛科。分布于湖北、江苏、台湾、广东、辽宁、广西、贵州、河南、青海、云南等。捕食昆虫有蚜虫、蓟马、红蜘蛛、叶蝉、红铃虫、棉铃虫、小造桥虫，危害棉花等作物。近年来发现，草间小黑蛛和草间钻头蛛实际上是同一种蜘蛛。
草间小黑蛛对颜色不敏感，说明它们没有利用猎物的寄主植物的颜色进行猎物的搜索。
