苯基硫脲，针状晶体（由热水重结晶）。熔点154℃。易溶于乙醇。由苯胺盐酸盐与硫氰酸铵的混合水溶液于100℃长时间加热，蒸去水后的残留物继续加热100℃，即制得本品。用作杀虫剂，可杀灭对DDT有抗药性的虫类。也用于有机合成。
