花生叶互生，为4小叶偶数羽状复叶，某些品种也可见多小叶的畸形叶，有叶柄和托叶，小叶片椭圆、长椭圆、倒卵和宽倒卵形，也有细长披针形小叶，叶面较光滑,叶背略显灰色，主脉明显,有茸毛，叶柄和小叶基部都有叶枕，可以感受光线的刺激而使叶枕薄壁细胞的膨压发生变化，导致小叶昼开夜闭，闭合时叶柄下垂。
