芯线（cored wire）是指用钢皮作外套内填铁合金粉做芯料，断面为圆形或矩形的线体。也称包芯线。它用作炼钢炉外精炼的喂线法添加精炼剂与合金剂。可直接加在钢液深部，对钢液进行脱氧、脱硫、脱气和非金属夹杂物变性处理，消除铝脱氧钢在连续铸钢炼铁时堵塞水口的问题。
