航区是指运载火箭和导弹等飞行器飞行弹道经过的“走廊”形区域，即从发射场区到弹着区或入轨点之间的弹道沿线区域。导弹航区与发射场区和弹着区一起组成导弹试验靶场。航区两侧设置有各种测控和通信台站，对陆上测控设各难以覆盖的飞行段，则设置有测量船和测量飞机。用以对飞行中的火箭和导弹进行跟踪，测量和监控。
