自动化仓库是指在不直接人工干预的情况下，能自动地存储和取出物料的系统。它是以多层货架构成，通常是将物料存放在标准的料箱或托盘内，然后由巷道式堆垛起重机对任意货位实现物料的存取操作，并利用计算机实现对物料的自动存取控制和管理。
