腐蚀电位是在没有外加电流时金属达到一个稳定腐蚀状态时测得的电位,它是被自腐蚀电流所极化的阳极反应和阴极反应的混合电位,此时金属上发生的共轭反应是金属的溶解及去极化剂的还原。即金属在介质中未通过电流时所产生的电位,称为腐蚀电位,也称自然电位或自腐电位或自然腐蚀电位或自腐蚀电位。金属结构物的性质和土质都可直接影响到腐蚀电位,但这种影响不大,当测得腐蚀电位有变化且电位增大时,应考虑土层中有杂散电流存在的。
