脑脊髓液（cerebrospinal fluid ） 由占据脊椎动物脑室壁一部分的脉络丛（圆口类以上有之）分泌的液体，充满脑室。从第四脑室的菱脑正中孔与菱脑外侧孔达蛛网膜下腔，向下到脊髓周围。除参与机械的保护作用之外，也成为中枢神经系统代谢产物的排出通路，最后被静脉系统所吸收。是弱碱性透明的水样液，一毫升中含1—6个淋巴球。
脑脊髓液之抽取应保留用于有症状之颅内压升高之情形。
