脊髓灰质炎活疫苗系用卫生部规定的减毒Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ型脊髓灰质炎病毒毒针，经细胞组织培养制成单型的液体疫苗，然后加工制成颜色不同的八种糖丸。红色丸为Ⅰ型，绿色丸为Ⅱ型，黄色丸为Ⅲ型。也可将Ⅱ、Ⅲ合成蓝色丸或三种型混合制成白色丸。
