脉络膜血管瘤，属于良性、血管性、错构瘤性病变。大多数为海绵状血管瘤，而毛细血管型血管瘤极为罕见。临床病理上，脉络膜血管瘤分为孤立性和弥漫性两类：孤立性脉络膜血管瘤多发生于后极部，界限清楚；弥漫性脉络膜血管瘤无明显界限，往往从锯齿缘部伸延到后极部，且通常伴发于脑、颜面血管瘤病（Sturge-Weber综合征）。
激光光凝可以直接治疗脉络膜血管瘤(choroidal hemangioma)，是操作方便，定位准确，国内外眼科医师公认为治疗本病的首选方法。
