当阀体下方进气口进气时，阀体上方进气口停止进气，活塞腔往 点胶阀系列复运动，这时活塞杆往后拉，此时处于封胶状态，（点胶准备前工作），反之，则出胶状态。出胶时由压缩空气送入胶阀体进胶处，将胶压进与活塞腔相连的进胶管中，当活塞处于上冲程时，活塞腔中填满胶，当活塞向下推进点胶针头时，胶从针嘴点出。点出的胶量大小，由活塞下冲的距离、压力大小、时间长短决定，胶阀本身可以进行出胶量大小微调。
