胚根鞘coleorhiza，高等植物胚的器官之一。是单子叶植物特有的，位于原胚轴下端的组织中，从内部形成的幼根，当进一步生长时，原来组织中一部分，包围着幼根的茎部而残留下来，这个部分称为胚根鞘。胚根鞘在禾本科（Gramineae）、十字花科（Cruciferae）中都可清楚地看到。
根和根冠被一鞘状结构，即胚根鞘所覆盖。
