胎儿先露部的指示点与母体骨盆的关系称胎方位，简称胎位。枕先露以枕骨、面先露以颏骨、臀先露以骶骨、肩先露以肩胛骨为指示点。根据指示点在母体骨盆入口前、后、左、右、横的关系而有不同的胎位。头先露、臀先露分别有六种胎方位，肩先露有四种胎方位。正常的胎位为枕左前和枕右前位。
