胃毒作用（stomach action），是指药剂通过害虫的口器和消化道进入虫体使害虫中毒死亡。具有这种作用的药剂叫做胃毒剂。在转基因上指植食性害虫食用转Bt抗虫作物后，Bt蛋白在害虫消化道作用使害虫死亡。特别在幼虫期作用明显，溶液化的Bt毒素在幼虫易受影响的中肠细胞膜上形成孔洞，导致害虫患败血病死亡。
