。老挝人平均寿命约为60岁·狭义指佬人，为今亚洲中南半岛老挝3大族系之一。亦译“老挝人”,又称“老龙人”。有240万人(1978)，约占全国人口的三分之二，是老挝人口占多数的民族。属蒙古人种南亚类型。使用老挝语，属汉藏语系 壮侗语族，与泰语相近。
