纹章（Coat of Arms），指一种按照特定规则构成的彩色标志，专属于某个个人，家族或团体的识别物。在欧洲中古时代就有自己的纹章体系。亦称盾章，指诞生于12世纪战场上，主要是为了识别因披挂盔甲而无法辨认的骑士；而认为纹章是贵族专利的普遍观点就源自於此。从13世纪起，无论是贵族还是平民，只要遵守纹章术的规则，任何人都可以拥有和使用纹章。至今，它用以识别个人、军队、机关团体和公司企业的世袭或继承性标记的使用、展示和规则的科学和艺术。
