纤维斑块（fibrous plaque）：脂纹进一步发展则演变为纤维斑块。肉眼观：内膜面散在不规则隆起的斑块，初为淡黄或灰黄色，后因斑块表层胶原纤维的增多及玻璃样变而呈瓷白色，状如凝固的蜡烛油。斑块直径约0.3~1.5cm，并可融合。光镜下：病灶表层是由大量胶原纤维、SMC、少数弹性纤维及蛋白聚糖形成纤维帽，胶原纤维可发生玻璃变性。纤维帽下方可见不等量的泡沫细胞、SMC、细胞外脂质及炎细胞。病变晚期，可见脂质池及肉芽组织反应。
