系统模拟（system simulation）指以某种工具和手段（主要是电子计算机及其软件）模仿系统的工作过程和运行状态，也称为系统仿真。基本方法是运用统计试验，研究系统的假想模型，以获得系统有关的动态特性。它既是分析同题、求解复杂问题的方法，也是一种实验手段。在话务理论研究中占有重要的地位。
