系列化，是指对同一类产品的结构形式和主要参数规格进行科学规划的一种标准化形式。系列化是标准化的高级形式。系列化通过对同类产品发展规律研究，预测市场需求，将产品的型式、尺寸等做出合理的安排和规划，其目的是使某-类产品系统的结构优化，功能达到最佳。产品系列化包括制定产品参数系列标准、编制系列型谱和开展系列设计三个方面的内容。 通过对同一类产品发展规律的分析研究、国内外产品发展趋势的预测，结合本国的生产技术条件，经过全面的技术经济比较，将产品的主要参数、型式、尺寸、基本结构等作出的合理安排与规划。
