稷下：战国时田齐的学宫。稷下学宫是养士之风的一个缩影，虽然由齐国提供教学活动的经费，但他基本上是私学，是一家官家举办、私家主持的学校。 刘向《别录》以为齐都临淄有稷门，稷门附近称稷下，谈说之士皆期会于此。但《齐地记》以为齐地有侧系水，侧、稷音近，稷下由此得名。虞喜则以为和稷山有关。一般认为后两说都不确，仍以刘说为是。
第二部分是稷下学宫的概述。
考察历史事实，我们发现稷下学宫里没有墨家学派，只是存在一些墨家思想，这些思想是在学术融合过程中相互吸收的结果，并不能说明墨家学派存在于稷下学宫。
