程异，字师举，唐代京兆长安（今属陕西）人。出身官僚世家，以孝顺著称。考明经及第，补郑县尉。精通吏治，被权臣王叔文提拔，升盐铁扬子院留后。后王叔文变法失败，受到牵连，贬为郴州司马，为著名的“八司马”之一。大臣李巽主管盐铁事务后，大力推荐程异，朝廷便授给程异侍御史，重新担任盐铁扬子院留后，不久又迁任淮南等道两税司。在任期间，程异厉己竭节，革除积弊，政绩卓著，后被召回朝廷，任卫尉卿、盐铁转运副使等职。
