古人用“指月”形容经义祖训的功能。也有赵州从谂禅师将自己反锁室内而烧满屋烟，大喊“救火！救火！”的公案。当时南泉禅师从窗口将钥匙投入，令赵州自开门户、自出火窟。我则常说：“我所讲的写的，不过是给人一把钥匙，教人自寻门户、自投锁孔、自开悟门。”我不会嚼食喂婴，也不会代人吃饭，所以将这次出版的两本书，取名为《禅钥》及《禅门》。
