原康藏地区人们，每年不定期要请喇嘛1—2次到家中诵经祭祖。晨起烧“加特”(即经喇嘛念诵过经的糌粑、酥油和盐、茶，还有各色布片及其他食物供晶)，或“施则”(即把糌粑、酥油放人“学巴”内同烧)，认为这样做就可挡住饿鬼们不能抢食祭祖的食品，祖先才可全得其食。
而因为除夕夜里家人通常要团聚，很多人也会在这时拜祭祖先。
