祖约（？~330年），字士少，范阳遒县（今河北涞水）人。东晋将领，镇西将军、豫州刺史祖逖胞弟。 举孝廉出身，授成皋县令。随兄归顺司马睿后，拜从事中郎，负责铨选。祖逖北伐建功，升任侍中。祖逖死后，继任豫州刺史，接掌部众。驭下无方，无法抵抗后赵石勒的进攻，丧失祖逖北伐成果，后参与平定王敦之乱，因功升任镇西将军。晋明帝死后，对现状不满，逐步心怀怨恨。 咸和二年（公元327年），联合苏峻一起以诛杀庾亮为由，起兵反叛。屡战屡败，率众投奔后赵。咸和五年（330年），为后赵石勒所诛，宗族夷灭。
