磁栅的工作原理是磁电转换,为保证磁头有稳定的输出信号幅度,考虑到空气的磁阻很大,故磁栅尺与磁头之间不允许存在较大和可变的间隙,最好是接触式的。为此带型磁栅在工作时磁头是压入于磁带上的,这样即使带面有些不平整,磁头与磁带也能良好的接触。线型磁栅的磁栅尺和磁头之间约有0.01mm的间隙,由于装配和调整不可能达到理想状态,故实际上线型磁栅也处于准接触式的工作状态。
