砰击（slamming）是一种波浪与船体的激烈冲击现象。主要发生于船首部。由于船舶在恶劣海况中剧烈纵摇，船首露出水面，又以相当大的相对速度进入水中而造成。出现砰击的最小船首相对速度称“砰击临界速度”，随船速增高而减小。砰击使船体首部受到很大的冲击压力，其大小与船首相对速度及首部剖面形状有关。冲击压力常可使首部结构严重变形或破坏，并引起船体较大的纵弯矩。
