砂布为磨具的一种。在底子（布或纸）上附以磨砂就成为砂布。作为底子的有纸和棉布。佥刚砂纸算是比较好的纸，因为它的强度和曲折性较好。可用的棉布有南京棉布，白洋布、粗洋布等。也有用纸和棉布合起作底子的。 作为磨料的有人造金刚砂，人造刚玉、金刚砂、矽、石英、轻石、氧化铁等。按照磨料大小的不同，砂布也可分为不同的号码。
