矛盾方程(contradictory equation)亦称矛盾等式,是一种特殊方程,即无解的方程。它有以下两种形式:1.数值矛盾方程的意义是:在求解范围内没有解(或说解集是空集)的方程称为这个范围的矛盾方程。例如x2+1=0在实数范围内是矛盾方程,2x+1=0在整数范围内是矛盾方程,一个方程是否为矛盾方程同求解的范围有关,扩大求解的范围,矛盾方程可能转化为非矛盾方程;2.矛盾方程也泛指在求解范围内无解的一般数学方程,如逻辑方程:p∧¬p=1(真)是矛盾逻辑方程,x∪1=0是矛盾布尔方程。
