白茶树属乔木或灌木，高3-15米；嫩枝密生灰黄色星状短柔毛，小枝无毛。叶纸质或薄革质，长椭圆形或长圆状披针形，长(8-) 12-32厘米，宽(2-) 3-8.5厘米，顶端渐尖，基部阔楔形、圆钝或微心形，边缘具细钝齿或圆齿，两面无毛，干后暗褐色；侧脉两面均明显；叶柄长5-10毫米，被绒毛；托叶披针形，长5-7毫米。 （概述图来自：中国自然标本馆 ）
