白体亦称"绝对白体”。对来自外界各种波长的投射辐射均能通过反射的方式全部反射出去，而毫无吸收和穿透作用的一种理想化物体。反射率等于1。热射线的入射角与反射角相差悬殊。 白体对所有波长的入射辐射的γ=1。现实中，白体也是不存在的，实际物体也只能或多或少地接近白体，如表面磨光的铜反射率为γ=0.97，被视为白体。凡是将辐射热全部反射的物体称为绝对白体。
