生长曲线（growth curve ），把生长现象在图上用曲线表示出来。 以裂殖方式增殖的细菌，当接种到液体培养基中后，在适宜的生长条件下，以细菌细胞数的对数为纵坐标，生长时间为横坐标所绘成的生长曲线，可分为四个主要部分，反映了细菌生长的四个主要阶段：延迟期、对数生长期、静止期和衰亡期。
