也叫重瓣胃。反刍动物的第三胃。位于腹腔前部右侧。前通网胃﹐后接皱胃（有些反刍动物如骆驼等瓣胃与皱胃不分）。黏膜面形成许多大小不等的叶瓣﹐没有消化腺。其主要功能在阻留食物中的粗糙部分﹐继续加以磨细﹐并输送较稀部分入皱胃﹐同时吸收大量水分和酸。
